What is PermeOx® Plus?

PermeOx Plus is FMC’s specially formulated  time-release grade of calcium peroxide designed to assist in the aerobic bioremediation of hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater.

The limiting factor in aerobic metabolism of hydrocarbons is often oxygen, which functions as a terminal electron acceptor. To help address this concern FMC’s PermeOx Plus provides a slow release of oxygen via the reaction of calcium peroxide and water. Laboratory studies have demonstrated that PermeOx Plus can continually release oxygen for over 350 days.

PermeOx Plus Contains More Available Oxygen than Magnesium Peroxide

PermeOx Plus is formulated to contains a least 18% Available Oxygen (AO), a measure of how much oxygen is available to be released. This compares to a 10% AO level found in typical magnesium peroxide based oxygen release products that are subject to lock-up. This means that on a pound to pound basis PermeOx Plus is able to deliver >80% more oxygen.

What Differentiates PermeOx Plus From Standard Calcium Peroxide?

• Higher Active Oxygen
  PermeOx Plus is formulated to contains >18% AO compared to other grades of calcium peroxide which typically contain only 13-16% AO.
• Rigorous Raw Materials Control
  PermeOx Plus is produced using high purity raw materials to insure a high purity product with no heavy metals. The same is not true with all imports.
• Ease Of  Use
  PermeOx Plus can be applied in dry form into the vadose zone or ex-situ land farming applications or in slurry form for subsurface using fixed monitoring wells or direct push application.
